Instructie/opmerking

The demo is configured for WASD+mouse controls. You can load a saved game with one of six pre-generated characters. To fight, press R to ready weapon, then hold the right mouse button an move the mouse to swing the weapon.

Daggerfall is a second chapter in The Elder Scrolls series and the direct sequel to The Elder Scrolls: Arena. This time, you play as the agent of the Emperor on a quest to investigate the haunting of the kingdom of Daggerfall by its former king who was slain in battle.

Even though Daggerfall offers just one region of the world of Tamriel where Arena allowed to travel the entire continent, the second game is larger and much more ambitious. In addition to the intricate plot of the main quest, you can now join various guilds and take dozens of exciting side-quests that will give adventuring more depth and variety. It is now possible to craft magic items and brew potions, train any skill regardless of the player class, and create custom classes with unique traits and abilities.

Daggerfall was officially made freeware in 2009 to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the series. An unofficial Windows remake exists on the Unity engine, but it is not a 1:1 recreation of the original game. However, the Unity version allows to play hundreds of user-made mods that enhance the experience, while DOS Daggerfall offers very limited modding options.
