CGA Cave (also called Colossal Grand Adventure Cave on the instructions screen) is a rather simple CGA mode graphical top-down adventure game. The player explores a dark cave with the intent of collecting 13 gold pieces.

The cave is represented a by a grid of 20x10 tiles, which are hidden until explored by the player. A tile may be empty, have an impassable wall, some gold pieces or a monster. The player can only "run away" from the monster, which has the lower chance of success the more gold the player is carrying. The player can also drop the gold to increase the odds of surviving the encounter. If "running away" is successful, the player remains on the same spot but the monster disappears (perhaps suggesting that the player ran away and returned after the monster backed off?), free to explore further. You can also listen to check if monsters are around.

The game was released as freeware along with the source code and even a tile editor.
