Zyr is a sci-fi first-person shooter created with Pie in the Sky Software's 3D Game Creation System (3D GCS). The story takes place in the far future when mankind has colonised the entire Solar System, and the Zyr Corporation is producing X3 rocket fuel on Pluto. However, when the facilities are overrun by hostile robots, a lone clone commando of the Interstellar Military Forces is sent to deal with this thread.

Being a 3D GCS game, Zyr plays as you'd expect, but the design quality here is very high. The game makes little use of stock textures and sprites, and the designs of monsters and surroundings has a polished, consistent look. Gameplay-wise, this is somewhere along the lines of Wolfenstein 3D with minor enhancements, but the shooty part in 3D GCS games generally lacks variety, and the fun factor is much lower than in many other "DOOM clones. Nevertheless, Zyr is an interesting game to check out.

The game was marketed as shareware, with the demo including the first episode set in Zyr Complex 1, comprising five levels. The full version has two further episodes and a total of 16 levels.
