Stormfighter is a very good-looking flight simulator game with slightly arcade leanings, but still more complex than purely arcade shooters like Terminal Velocity. The game is set in a futuristic world, and while plot details are a bit sketchy, the player controls a state-of-the-art fighter-bomber plane flying various missions against numerous and well-equipped enemies.

The visuals will remind you of early-90s commercial flight sims in a good way. The single-player campaign features various missions ranging from tactical strikes to defence and repelling invading enemy forces. The player's craft is armed with a gun, missiles and bombs to effectively deal with all types of ground and air targets. Enemy forces include both conventional-looking (but still fictional) and futuristic vehicles, most notably gigantic ground walkers clearly inspired by AT-STs from Star Wars. There is a built-in encyclopedia that gives some background on all vehicles and other objects in the game.

Stormfighter was never released in English, but a German shareware version is available with a limited selection of missions.
