Jetpack Joe is a frustratingly hard platform/puzzle game where you control a guy with a jetpack with the aim to collect coins while avoiding various hazards. The game's graphics are actually made from fonts using a special hack (possibly similar to Paku Paku or MagiDuck), which likely explains the somewhat simplified look of everything.

The jetpack has limited fuel, but the main difficulty seemingly comes from the very liberal collision detection in the game, considering that you need to avoid numerous spikes to safely navigate Joe through a level. As a result, the game is very challenging (as admitted by the author in the description as well).

Jetpack Joe was released as freeware along with its source code.
