Deluxe Snake is an excellent quality Snake/Nibbles variant with high-resolution graphics, smooth animations and extended features. There are several game modes available, various powerups, extensive high-score tracking system and other features.
For those not familiar with the genre, the objective is to steer the plain-looking "snake" towards "food", which makes it grow longer, while taking care not to ram into your own tail, walls (if present) or other obstacles. In this variant, there are also extra powerups that produce different effects which you will discover while playing.
The game was coded with the Allegro library and released as freeware for DOS and Windows. Later it was also ported to Linux and BeOS. Overall, it is a very polished product of almost commercial quality, and definitely recommended to all Snake fans.
